A total of 78 new scholars of the University of St. La Salle formally signified their agreement on scholarship grants for Academic Year 2010 – 2011 with the Admission and Scholarships Administration Office at MM Audi B, 4:30pm last July 13.
Recipients under the different categories of scholarship approved were valedictorians - 17, salutatorians - 9, top 10% of the high school graduating class- 32 and special grants – 18 where 4 (BS Biology); 1 (Political Science); 2 (Business Economics-upperclassmen); 1 (Materials Engineering); 9 freshmen & 1 upperclassman (Chemical Engineering).
Inclusive of the scholarships for valedictorians, 14 students will avail 100% discount on tuition & miscellaneous, 2 will have 100% discount on tuition and 1 will receive100% discount on tuition and 50% discount on miscellaneous.
For salutatorians, 7 will be granted 100% discount on tuition & miscellaneous and 2 with 100% discount on tuition.
Furthermore in the top 10% grant, 18 will have 50% discount on tuition and miscellaneous, 10 with 100% discount on tuition ,and 4 will have 50% discount on tuition and 100% discount on miscellaneous.
While the 18 recipients of the special grant will avail 100% discount on tuition.
Under the special grants are academic scholars who are taking up the following courses: BS Biology, Political Science, Business Economics, Materials Engineering and Chemical Engineering.
Stipulated in the MOA, the scholars must maintain a GPA of 85 with no grades below 80 and abide by the rules and regulations of the school.
VCAA Marie Therese Jochico, CER Director Rhoderick Samonte, ASAO Director Ma. Socorro Faminialagao, the ASAO staff, college representatives, special guest Fr. Marcel Remon S.J. from University of Namur, Belgium and the scholars with their parents were present in the ceremony.
