By On Monday, July 19, 2010

Three American Field Service exchange students from France and Germany arrived in USLS last July 15 and 19.

French Antonin Ragache-Gueralt, 18 together with German Reiner Tilman, 19 and Niklas Wandscheer, 17 are here as part of the intercultural exchange program of the AFS hosted by the University of St. La Salle.

These three students will be hosted by Filipino families as their new sons for almost a year. The families will not receive any pay or subsidy from any one.

The host families agree to provide the participant a safe & nurturing environment and treat the participant as a member of the family.

They also agree to provide everyday expenses, to enroll the participant in a school and provide all the needs of the participant up to the agreed time of stay at their home. Most of all, they are expected to assist the participant in having a successful experience here in the Philippines.

AFS is an international, voluntary, non-governmental, non-profit organization that provides intercultural learning opportunities to help people develop the knowledge, skills and understanding needed to create a more just and peaceful world.
