Be very clear of what makes you different from the others.

Ishwar Chugani, St. La Salle Awardee 2013, encouraged the students from an International Marketing class to find their passion in the business industry during the USLS Speakers’ Bureau series held at Cody Conference Room B, March 6.

“You have to understand what interests you most,” said Chugani, Managing Director of Giordano Middle East (FZE) and Executive Director of Giordano International.

Chugani is part of HS Class ’75 which is celebrating its 40th Jubilee Anniversary.

“Today, finding the right job and career path is like finding a needle in a haystack,” he said. “We need to have patience and persevere.”

Initiated by the University of St. La Salle Alumni Relations Office, the Speakers’ Bureau aims to provide inspiration to young Lasallians through talks with successful alumni of the university.

“Your Lasallian education will provide you with the initial foundation to face the real world,” Chugani said.

He also reminded the students to use the 3 Hs in whatever they do—heart, hands, and head.

“Use your heart to make sure you love what you are doing; use your hands to require yourself to work hard, and; use your head to find common sense and ability to judge what is best for you,” he explained.

Chugani heads the Giordano group in Middle East, India, Africa, Central Asia and Eastern Europe and employs over 1,000 individuals in 25 countires.

“Find out what will challenge you and give you satisfaction and then move in that direction,” Chugani added.

On Feb. 24, the USLS Speakers’ Bureau series featured St. La Salle Awardee Rodolfo Quevenco.
