In partnership with the Local Government of Talisay City, Panasonic Corporation and Sheila Saratan, the Institute for Negros Development was able to reach one of the farthest communities in Talisay City, Brgy. Katilingban.
Dubbed as “Piso pa Langit” which means you will sacrifice first before you reach the said community.
The visit was highlighted with the turn-over of dolar lanterns to the community and partners.
BLT school Magcorao Elementary School alongside with Brgy. Katilingban Health Center, Had. Sta. Elena and Sto. Dulonan received three solar lanterns with solar panels each.
Community partners also enjoyed the feeding program organized by Saratan and the City Nutrition Office, together with the Barangay Nutrition Scholars and Barangay Health Workers.
“Im very thankful to Panasonic and University of St. La Salle because out of 27 Barangays here in Talisay City, Brgy. Katilingban was chosen to be a beneficiary of this Solar Lanterns, Im also thankful to Mrs. Sheila Y. Saratan because of her undying help to us,” Brgy. Captain Jude Abellana said during the turn-over .
