Six represented the University of St. La Salle in the United Students’ Wisdom and Awareness of the Ground 2015 (#U_SWAG) held at The Silliman University, April 15-19.
College students Angelo Cachero, Ma. Mae Mesa, Brian Ropa and Veronica Te, together with Institute for Negros Development staff Jeffrey Lazaro and Katherine Maguad, joined the 2nd Asian University Digital Resource Network (AUDRN) initiated camp.
The five-day camp included lectures on the application and importance of local knowledge, practical skills used during research, and field work in five key research areas.
The participants ultimately devised a draft for a service-learning program which is anchored on local knowledge.
The camp was attended by about 80 participants representing 15 universities from the Philippines and Indonesia.
USLS alumnus Keith Cari-an also presented his local knowledge research, and stood as one of the resource speakers for the camp. He attended as one of the participants in first AUDRN Youth Camp on Local Knowledge held in April 2013 at the University of San Carlos-Talamban Campus in Cebu City
