Vice Chancellor for Mission and Development Hector Gloria, ICOM Philippines Chair Gina Barte and DLS-CSB Vice Chancellor for Advancement Robin Serrano during the signing of partnership for Museum for a Sustainable Society
University of St. La Salle-Bacolod and De La Salle College of St. Benilde in partnership with the International Council for Museum held a press conference for the upcoming ICOM Philippine Conference Bacolod 2015at Museo Negrense De La Salle, June 25.
Gina Barte ICOM Philippines Director gave her message to the guests, media, and students present in the press conference. “Museum is my third universe, we can have our own universe” said Gina Barte. She also announced that on December 4-8, 2015 ICOM Asia Pacific Region Conference will be held also here in the country and July 3-9, 2016 ICOM will be having its general conference at Milan, Italy.
Robin Serrano Vice Chancellor for Advancement of DLS CSB suggested Bacolod City as the host for the upcoming conference because of the Lasallian Presence. “I hope that you should be a catalyst and inspiration for the Culture and the Arts” said Robin Serrano.
“Museums hold the stories of our people. To shape our stories is to shape our culture. To sustain our museums is to sustain our stories and culture. This is the Museum of the 21st century,continue to get inspired” said Hector Gloria Jr. Vice Chancellor for Mission and Development.
Also present in the press conference were Atty. Jocelle Batapa-Sigue City Councilor of Bacolod, Arch. Gerry Torres Center for Campus Art Director of DLS CSB, and Lyn Gamboa Negros Cultural Foundation President.
The ICOM Philippine Conference Bacolod 2015 “Museum for a Sustainable Society” will be on August 18-21, 2015 at Museo Negrense De La Salle.
