The La Salle Culinary Team of Hospitality and Tourism Management Department dominated three other teams from the city in the Kapamilya Kookfest Year 2 of ABS-CBN Bacolod held at Gaisano Grand Mall, July 20.
The team was comprised of senior HTM students Gerald Brylle Flores, Glennuel Paul Velasco and junior student Ma. Thea Lovino.
The culinary team prepared a sumptuous meal of Pork tenderloin in demy-glace with squash puree and fruit, vegetable salad, bacon wrapped string beans top with poach quail egg for Main Dish and Panna-cotta with crushed cashew nuts, mix fruit, Oreo and chocolate stick with molded chocolate on top for Dessert which earned them high scores in the judges’ palate and score sheets.
Each team was given an hour to prepare and produce a main course and dessert good for 4 person worth 500Php.
“I told my team not to expect too much because we arenot that confident for our dish. We have some errors but because of our teamwork and techniques that we use, we finished the competition on time. When the name of our school was announcedas champion, I was speechless and very happy to win the crown against the last year champion,” said Flores.
The Kapamilya Kookfest Year 2 was part in the celebration of ABS-CBN Bacolod 27th year anniversary.
The winning team was supported by HM professors Mariver E. Lorilla and Julieta Cortez.
