“I shall lead the institution for its fulfillment of its mission and uphold the Lasallian values of faith, service and communion in mission”.

This was the pledge of the President and Chancellor Br. Manuel “Mawel” R. Pajarillo as La Salle Bacolod’s 11th President during the Investiture Rites and Ceremony at the St. La Salle Coliseum, August 13.

Br. Edmundo Fernandez said that the Lasallian community is “grateful for the legacy that Br. Ray left behind and hopeful and encourage by the new energy and life that Br. Mawel will bring.”

“We would also like to thank Br. Raymundo Suplido and Br. Mawel for their continuing and ardent commitment to our share of mission of teaching minds, touching hearts and transforming lives,” Br. Edmundo added.

The formal transfer of the Presidential toga, mace and medallion was headed by De La Salle University President Br. Raymundo Suplido and De La Salle Philippines President Br. Jose Mari Jimenez.

Br. JJ expressed his gratitude to Br. Ray “whom empowered lay partners through a participative brand of leadership which inspired innovative programs that were holistic, learner centered and quality driven.”

During his inaugural address, Br. Mawel said “Doing ordinary things extraordinarily well. That is the tone I want to set in my mission at the University of St. La Salle.”

Among the attendees were De La Salle Philippines Brothers Br. Gus Bocquer, Br. Victor Franco and Br. Armin Luistro, Vice Chancellor for Mission and Development Hector Gloria Jr.,Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Marissa Quezon, University Registrar Frances Mae Llamas, Vice Chancellor for Administration Br. Pedro Victor Maralit, Vice Chancellor for Finance Jocelyn Aragon, faculty, staff and students.
