Lasallian wins Cirilo Bautista Novel Prize

Atty. Raymundo T. Pandan, Jr., has won the Cirilo F. Bautista Prize for his novel “When Will This War End?” A cash prize of P 100,000 is entitled to Pandan along with a certificate.

Judged by National Artist Cirilo F. Bautista, Katrina Tuvera, Roland Tolentino, Dean Francis Alfar, and Joselito Delos Reyes, Pandan’s entry emerged among the other 72 qualified entries.

“When Will This War End?” is set in an alternative Philippines emerging from Spanish rule wherein myth, memory and history mingle.

His poetry collection “Illuminations and Sonorities” (2006), and “The Ocelot and Other Poems” (2012) won the Don Carlos Palanca Awards for Literature.

Pandan graduated Valedictorian from La Salle Bacolod High School (1979), and served as Dean of the USLS College of Law (1998-2010).
