Over sixty companies participated in the 19th Annual USLS Job Fair: Exploring Options to Jumpstart Great Careers, launched by the Guidance and Evaluation and Center - Job Placement Office at the St. La Salle Coliseum last February 19, 2016.

The Job Fair was attended by graduating students, alumni and job seekers, and brought in companies from diverse industries including banking, business and commerce, international hotel and cruise ship companies, and breweries among others.

“You matter to us”, GEC Director Dr. Rowena V. Bañes said in her welcoming remarks, emphasizing the significance of the students’ career opportunities.

Bañes also acknowledged the external partners ABS-CBN, Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Social Security System (SSS), Philippine Health (PHILHEALTH) and job exhibitors.

She also added that the “Job Fair is a venue to resurface the Lasallian Graduate Attributes and provide unlimited possibilities and opportunities for students”.

Vice-Chancellor for Mission and Development Hector Gloria Jr. gave his inspirational message encouraging students to “Get a Life!” not by looking for a job or employment, but by answering to the call of vocation and mission. “God calls us to the fullness of life, not livelihood. Let us build each other up to build life, and with that you don’t have to work a single day of your life” Gloria said.

It was followed by a ribbon cutting ceremony led by Mr. Hector Gloria Jr. and Assistant Vice-Chancellor for Academic Affairs Dr. Annabelle Balor.

Present also were College of Arts and Sciences Dean Jay Estrellas, College of Business and Accountancy Dean Stephanie Calamba, Job Placement Officer Ms. Marijoy Gatuyon and GEC Counselors.
