USLS produces 12 new Lasallian Lawyers, Simondo tops 2017 Bar exam
The University of St. La Salle continued to earn distinction after twelve (12) Law Graduates passed the November 2017 Bar Examinations.
The new batch of Lasallian lawyers are as follows: Ralph P. Bascones, Jamie F. Bentinganan, Gabriela S. Daguman, Eduard Dorsey R. Caratao, Jaenise Rae A. De la Paz, Daniel R. Del Rosario III, Hazelmer S. Fernandez, Maria Reylan M. Garcia, Mark Lester A. Reyes, Dennis E. Salem, Mark John H. Simondo, and Katriza Z. Tan.
The 2017 valedictorian of College of Law, Simondo got a score of 91.05% to lead the 1,724 Bar passers.
The 12 passers were among the 6,748 law graduates who took the 4-day long licensure examination last November at the University of Sto. Tomas (UST).
The Supreme Court announced the names of the passers on Thursday, April 26, 2018 led by Associate Justice Lucas Bersamin, the chair of last year’s committee on examinations.
The passing rate for the 2017 Bar Examinations is 25.55%.
This is the first time for USLS to top the Bar Exams and second time to be part of the Top 10.
The exam covered 8 Bar subjects: Political Law, Labor Law, Civil Law, Taxation, Mercantile Law, Criminal Law, Remedial Law, and Legal and Judicial Ethics.
The new lawyers are set for oath-taking on June 1 at the Philippine International Convention Center, Bersamin said.
