Academic Curriculum

Republic Act 10533 otherwise known as the Enhanced Basic Education Act of 2013 added two more years the number of years in the Basic Education in the Philippines starting School Year 2016-2017.

The Senior High School Curriculum has eight (8) Learning Areas namely, LANGUAGE, MATHEMATICS, SCIENCE, COMMUNICATION, PHILOSOPHY, HUMANITIES, SOCIAL SCIENCES and P.E. & HEALTH. The Senior High School is composed of four (4) Tracks. These are the Academic Track, Sports Track, Arts & Design Track and Technical-Vocational-Livelihood Track.

The Academic track has four (4) strands: Accountancy, Business, and Management (ABM) Strand; Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMSS) Strand; Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Strand; and General Academic Strand (GAS).

For each Track or Strand, a Senior High School student will have a total of 31 eighty-hour subjects (2,480 hours in 2 Years).

There are 31 total subjects in the Senior High School. 15 Core Subjects, 7 Applied Track Subjects and 9 Specialized Subjects.

This strand focuses on learning the basic concepts of business and learning associated skills in other related fields like finance, management, corporate, and operations.

GAS STRAND (General Academic Strand)

You can pursue any course in college and choose the path you want to take from there in case you are not yet decided on which field you want to take upon enrolling in SHS.

  • AB Interdisciplinary Studies


This track includes the fundamentals and Psychosocial aspect of Fitness, Sports, Movement and Recreation Leadership. It equips the students with basic coaching skills, exercise programming and first aid training.

  • Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in MAPEH


This track allows the students to explore different field of arts such as Media Arts, Visual Arts, Literary Arts, Dance, Music and Theater. It covers a comprehensive discussion and practical studies on appreciation, leadership and management on the said arts fields.

  • AB Interdisciplinary Studies


This strand equips the students with fundamental skills in Culinary Arts and Food & Beverage.
